SKKU baseball team (director Lee Yeon-soo, majoring in physical education, 82), won the title at the 74th National University Baseball Championship held in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, from August 15.
This is the largest university baseball game in Korea, with 32 universities nationwide participating, and it is very meaningful for each university to determine the outcome of their training through fierce competition.
In the final game at Palma Baseball Stadium in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, on August 29, Sungkyunkwan University kept its one-run lead over Yeongnam University, catching the last batter in the ninth inning with an outfield fly to mark the end of the three-hour showdown.
Our baseball team has won two years of this championship since last year, and the joy of members has doubled.
"I'm very grateful that the players follow me well. As the atmosphere of the team is very good, I will work with the players to achieve good results by doing the same hard work at the 2019 U-League final championship which begins on September 2 and the National Sports Festival in October," director Lee said.
Kim Kyung-min of Sungkyunkwan University won the tournament's best player award, Han Cha-yeon won the valuable player award, Joo Seung-woo won the best pitcher award, and Lee Yeon-soo won the best coach award.
