In the fifth round of 2019 Japan 3X3 EXE Premier League held at Kyung Hee University's International Campus Gymnasium on July 21, KOREA 3X3 beat TOKYO SUPREMERS by 21-20, with a thrilling victory by one point. Jung Sung-jo (Dept. of Sport Science 19, SKKU), the youngest member of the team, led the team's victory by playing hard in offense and defense.
Jung Sung-jo, who met after the game, said, "I wanted to do well in Japan because I came to Korea after playing in Japan league, so I'm glad I even won the championship." He went on to say, "When I threw the last free throw, I had a hunch that it was going to go in."
The KOREA 3X3 team, which all the members of the team were made up of college students, drew many people's attention just by competing in Japan's 3X3 EXE Premier League. Jung Sung-jo, who was chosen for the entry after overwhelmingly high competition, said, "I applied with my older brothers, whom I used to be close to, but I was able to be chosen because the federation might have had a good opinion of me." He added, "I'm working hard as much as I can because I've got a good chance."
