- Natural Sciences Campus of SKKU opens the “Student Success Center”, the gateway between students and schools -Providing meticulous and comprehensive customized counseling and education support services between schools and students -On-campus hub for student success SKKU announced that it will launch the Student Success Center, which provides attentive and systematic student support programs for student success *, following the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, as well as the Natural Sciences Campus. The opening ceremony of the center was held on October 1, 2019 (Tue.) at the 1st floor of the Samsung Library, attended by President of SKKU Dong-ryeol Shin, Executive Vice President of Humanities and Social Science Campus Hong-jun Rhyu, Executive Vice President of National Sciences Campus Sung-jin Song and other leading personnels of SKKU. * Student Success: To grow as a responsible citizen who can contribute to the development of a community where people live in a diverse and emotionally stable environment with dreams and hopes, and decide their career and life direction through diverse campus activities. The Student Success Center offers counseling services on a variety of topics (exploration, comparison and activities related to majors, program guidance for career exploration, interpersonal or emotional issues counseling and linking with relevant institutions, and other successful college life) and development and operation of student success programs. It helps students to solve their immediate concerns and problems, and further helps them to progress toward the 'student success' aimed at by students and schools. First launched at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus in the first semester, the Student Success Center spreads students' mindsets in and out of school, improves the ability of various student groups (disabled, foreigners, returning students, etc.) to adapt to their campus life. It has been praised for its successful role in improving quality of support, integrating and guiding student support programs in schools, and leading innovation in higher education related to student success.

- The opening ceremony of the Graduate School of Sports Interaction Science (SIS) was held
- The opening ceremony of the Graduate School of Sports Interaction Science (SIS) was held at the Riviera Hotel in Seoul at 7:00 pm on September 28, 2019. The event was attended by many guests, including the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, the Sports Convergence Industrial Support Center, The Korean Journal of Physical Education, Golf Zone, PUMA, KBL, and Sungkyunkwan University. The first part of the event was to commemorate the opening of SIS Graduate School by hosting remarks including opening speeches and congratulatory adresses for the guests, introducing SIS Graduate School, and delivering a scholarship certificate. After dinner, the second part of the event was a presentation session for freshmen, followed by a recreation to break the awkward atmosphere among freshmen. The event celebrated the opening of the Graduate School of SIS and was a meaningful time to further raise the status of the College of Sports Science.

- SKKU takes 89th place in THE World Rankings. No.1 private university in Korea
- THE (Times Higher Education) has announced the THE World University Rankings 2020. SKKU has dropped 7 places to 89th place but remained as No.1 comprehensive private university in Korea. SKKU received a slightly lower points in academic environment and research performance in comparison to the previous year. Seoul National University also dropped to 64th place and other engineering schools such as KAIST and POSTECH has also continued to drop to 110th and 146th respectively. Korea University rose to 179th place and Yonsei University took 197th place. The title of world’s top university went to Oxford University.

- SKKU baseball team wins 2019 U-League final game
- Sungkyunkwan University’s baseball team became the champions of U-League. SKKU defeated Dong-Eui University by 13-8. SKKU has won a double this season by becoming the champions of U-League and the National University baseball tournament. SKKU team had a bad start in the beginning of the game. The opponent team took the lead in the 2nd inning by 0-2. SKKU turned the table in the 7th inning and ended the game with 13-8. Coach Yeonsoo LEE said, “I was worried that our team might have lost concentration after the victory in the last tournament. Our players kept focused and became victors once again.” The coach also added, “We will maintain this momentum and aim for a treble in the national athletic festival. - SKKU baseball team won the 74th National University Baseball Championship
- SKKU baseball team (director Lee Yeon-soo, majoring in physical education, 82), won the title at the 74th National University Baseball Championship held in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, from August 15. This is the largest university baseball game in Korea, with 32 universities nationwide participating, and it is very meaningful for each university to determine the outcome of their training through fierce competition. In the final game at Palma Baseball Stadium in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, on August 29, Sungkyunkwan University kept its one-run lead over Yeongnam University, catching the last batter in the ninth inning with an outfield fly to mark the end of the three-hour showdown. Our baseball team has won two years of this championship since last year, and the joy of members has doubled. "I'm very grateful that the players follow me well. As the atmosphere of the team is very good, I will work with the players to achieve good results by doing the same hard work at the 2019 U-League final championship which begins on September 2 and the National Sports Festival in October," director Lee said. Kim Kyung-min of Sungkyunkwan University won the tournament's best player award, Han Cha-yeon won the valuable player award, Joo Seung-woo won the best pitcher award, and Lee Yeon-soo won the best coach award.

- SKKU Kendo Team Won the 48th National Kendo Competition
- SKKU kendo team won the five-man team event of the 48th National Kendo Competition (Minister's cup of MCST) held at Chungmu Gymnasium for three days from August 12. It beat Kyungpook National Univ., Kookmin Univ., and Daegu Univ. one by one, beating Chosun Univ. 3:2 in the final to decorate its first prize of this year. In an interview after the final game, captain Kun-hee Won said, "I'm happy to win the first team event of this year. It's a more meaningful win because we prepared hard in this summer. I'll try to win the 100th National Sports Festival in Seoul this year as a starting member of Seoul," he said. Attention is focusing on whether the team will be able to maintain its place at the top of the National Sports Festival, where it is scheduled to compete in a mixed race with Kookmin University athletes, following last year. - Seminar of Exercise Physiology Held "Integrative Bioengineering Approaches to Rejuvenate Aging Skeletal Muscle"
- On July 29 (3 p.m.), 2019, a seminar of exercise physiology was held at High-tech Lecture Room of Suseonggwan, Natural Sciences Campus. The guest speaker was Prof. Young-mok Jang of Georgia Institute of Technology in the field of exercise physiology. The seminar was held on the theme of 「Integrative Bioengineering Approaches to Rejuvenate Aging Skeletal Muscle」. Participants had a meaningful time to think deeply and to widen their knowledge about physiology through this seminar.

- THE (Times Higher Education) announced the world reputation ranking. SKKU is one of top 3 universities in Korea by being placed among 81-90th ranking. “THE World Reputation Rankings 2019” was determined based on the evaluations of reputable scholars in the world. The evaluation took place during the period November 2018 ~ February 2019. Each scholar was asked to pick top 15 universities in their research/education fields. - [Japan 3X3 EXE League] A Winning Shot of the Championship
- In the fifth round of 2019 Japan 3X3 EXE Premier League held at Kyung Hee University's International Campus Gymnasium on July 21, KOREA 3X3 beat TOKYO SUPREMERS by 21-20, with a thrilling victory by one point. Jung Sung-jo (Dept. of Sport Science 19, SKKU), the youngest member of the team, led the team's victory by playing hard in offense and defense. Jung Sung-jo, who met after the game, said, "I wanted to do well in Japan because I came to Korea after playing in Japan league, so I'm glad I even won the championship." He went on to say, "When I threw the last free throw, I had a hunch that it was going to go in." The KOREA 3X3 team, which all the members of the team were made up of college students, drew many people's attention just by competing in Japan's 3X3 EXE Premier League. Jung Sung-jo, who was chosen for the entry after overwhelmingly high competition, said, "I applied with my older brothers, whom I used to be close to, but I was able to be chosen because the federation might have had a good opinion of me." - Sport Interaction Science (SIS) Symposium 2019
- Sport Interaction Science (hereafter SIS) Symposium 2019 was held on June 25 at the high-tech lecture room (Suseonggwan), SKKU Natural Science Campus. Prof. Young Yoon (Dept. of Computer Engineering, HongIk Univ.), Prof. Yoo-shin Kim (Dept. of Sport Health Rehabilitation, CheongJu Univ.) and Prof. Sun-yeong Im (Dept. of IT Engineering, SookMyung Univ.) were invited as speakers and the main themes of the symposium were sports big data and digital health care. This was the opportunity to share knowledge for the development of sport interaction industries. Students who participated in the symposium had a time to think deeply about the development of sport interaction industries.
